As far as we the public are concerned, there is no such thing as a "4k Switch" until Nintendo decide to publicly announce it does. What matters is how people act on the information they have vs just vague speculations they want to believe are true. It doesn't matter whether or not you trust their "denial". Combine them to create the biggest future disappointment of this generation. So you have an unrealistic hardware request coupled with an unfounded expectation that the software will improve on its own when we have history that they don't allow that to happen. That's exactly how the added specs on the n3DS worked without CFW to change it. We haven't made so many technological advancements in the mobile hardware space that you would get a new Switch model that can handle 4K, I'd argue asking for on a new model is pushing your expectations to the boundary.Įven if the hardware were feasible, take a history lesson from how the n3DS was handled and you'll realize that all of your hopes and dreams about a 4K model are unfounded, none of those games that you really want to see running better or at a higher resolution will actually work that way without specific patches to push it because Nintendo will limit the hardware at the firmware level for software not specifically built for it. It's like the PS3 era all over again where the system touts 1080p but almost nothing runs at 1080p, and the few exceptions run like dog shit. The current Switch can't even handle 1080p 99% of the time. I don't think it'll be a 4K system regardless of what people want. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
